Questions

How do I show open roles on a startup org chart?

Add them as ordinary rows with a placeholder name, like “Hiring: Backend Engineer”, and put them under the person they will report to. They sit on the chart like everyone else, so the team can see where each new hire lands.

What happens when we grow past this?

Keep the same spreadsheet and add rows. When a founder hands a team to a new manager, change that manager column and the chart re-flows. Nothing has to be redrawn.
